Lucas Lentsch is set to become the CEO of the United Soybean Board (USB) from January 1, 2024. Currently a part of the Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) leadership team overseeing the national dairy checkoff, Lentsch was selected to lead USB at its December board meeting. With vast agricultural experience and a background in promoting farming and serving farmers, Lentsch is seen as an ideal choice to guide USB.
Growing up on a family farm in South Dakota, he has a deep understanding of the agricultural sector. Lentsch, an executive vice president at DMI, previously served as CEO at Midwest Dairy and held the position of South Dakota Secretary of Agriculture from 2013 to 2016. A veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he brings a wealth of experience and collaborative leadership to USB, aiming to advance its mission of providing sustainable soy solutions. The USB board, representing farmers from over 30 states, ratified the decision, expressing confidence in Lentsch's ability to drive the soy checkoff's meaningful initiatives.
