The South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council (SDSRPC) has welcomed three new farmer-leaders to serve as directors. These individuals will guide the use of soybean checkoff funds, ensuring investments in research, promotion, education, and market development that benefit soybean growers across the state.
Representing District 3, Jeff Thompson from Colton brings more than four decades of farming experience. He raises corn and soybeans alongside his wife and holds a degree in Mechanized Agriculture from South Dakota State University. Jeff previously served on the South Dakota Soybean Association board and was elected unopposed to SDSRPC.
In District 4, David Iverson of Toronto continues with a second term. With years of experience farming corn and soybeans, David also brings a strong history of service. He has contributed to several national and international agricultural groups, including the United Soybean Board, WISHH, SD Trade, and Dakota BioWorx. His dedication to promoting South Dakota agriculture has been recognized at multiple levels.
District 7 is now represented by Carson Stange of Stratford. Carson grows corn, soybeans, wheat, and raises cattle with his wife and daughter. He is a graduate of Lake Area Technical College and a member of SDARL Class XII. His participation in SDSRPC’s “See for Yourself” tour inspired him to take a leadership role and run for the board, where he was successfully elected.
These three directors bring fresh insights and leadership to help advance South Dakota's soybean industry. Their backgrounds in farming, education, and leadership demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting fellow growers and guiding future growth.
The SDSRPC looks forward to their contributions as they work together to strengthen South Dakota agriculture and the soybean sector.
