South Dakota State University Extension celebrates the appointment of Sami Nordmann as the new 4-H Livestock Program Manager. Sami Nordmann is set to enhance 4-H livestock programs and lead state events, from livestock shows to skill-a-thon competitions.
Sami, a livestock project enthusiast, has been recognized by SDSU Extension State 4-H Program Director Tim Tanner for her potential to positively impact young enthusiasts in South Dakota.
With a background in family farm operations, including raising show pigs and supporting commercial sheep and beef cattle ventures, Sami's belief in livestock projects resonates with her.
Her involvement with 4-H during her younger years saw her actively participating, showcasing mainly swine and market lambs. A proud alum of SDSU, Sami boasts a degree in agricultural education, communication, and leadership, with specializations in leadership and a certificate in swine science.
Before her new role, she contributed significantly to the Turner County 4-H livestock shows and led the South Dakota Summer Spotlight Swine Division.
Sami is excited to oversee events and witness members' growth. SDSU Extension 4-H County Operations and Professional Development Program Manager, Oakley G. Perry, appreciates Sami's expertise in uplifting livestock programs and educating youth about South Dakota's industries.
He believes she can mold youth into informed consumers and ethical food producers, demonstrating her potential to positively impact the state's livestock programs.
