South Dakota State University Extension will host a free health and wellness webinar series designed for individuals involved in agriculture. The Strong Minds, Strong Farms series focuses on helping farm and ranch families improve their physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
The three-part series explores physical activity, financial habits, and healthy eating on a budget. Inspired by Annie’s Project, the webinars are open to all and aim to provide practical tools that fit busy agricultural lifestyles.
“Our SDSU Extension women in agriculture team wants to provide information that helps the individuals we work with be healthy so they can be confident carrying out their role in the farm or ranch operation,” said Lorna Saboe-Wounded Head, SDSU Extension Family Resource Management Field Specialist. “Offering programs that impact our wellbeing can improve the lives of individuals and families in the ag industry.”
Each one-hour webinar begins at 7 p.m. CST and takes place on Feb. 23, March 2, and March 9, 2026. All sessions are free, but registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Participants can register through the SDSU Extension Events page.
The first session on Feb. 23, titled “Movement that Fits Your Life,” will be presented by Erin Hallenbeck. The session will focus on flexible and realistic ways to stay active, build motivation, and support long-term fitness.
On March 2, “Spring Budget Reset” will help participants review spending habits and create simple budgets. Saboe-Wounded Head will share tools to help individuals feel more organized and confident about financial decisions.
The final session on March 9, “Eat Well, Spend Less,” will be led by Jessica Meuleners. The program will provide easy meal planning tips, ways to stretch grocery dollars, and strategies to reduce food waste.
“Each program offers strategies and tools that can be implemented to improve the wellbeing of farm and ranch families,” said Saboe-Wounded Head.
