SDSU Extension to Host Swine Day Event

SDSU Extension will host a Swine Day event to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the SDSU Swine Education and Research Facility. The event will be held at McCrory Gardens on Nov. 1 starting at 9 a.m. CDT.

"We hope producers and allied industry partners can make it to SDSU's Swine Day," said Bob Thaler, interim head of the Department of Animal Science, Distinguished Professor and SDSU Extension Swine Specialist. "The event has been growing every year, and this year our swine group has made some changes to the program to make it an even better and more valuable experience for everyone."

Throughout the day, SDSU Extension will showcase what is happening in SDSU's swine program and how the investment of many producers into the new swine unit is paying dividends both in education and research.

To register, visit the SDSU Extension events. Registration is free of cost and will close Oct. 21. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

For more information, contact Ryan Samuel, Assistant Professor and SDSU Extension Swine Specialist, at 605-688-5165 or ryan.samuel@sdstate.edu.
