Ag Topics, prizes, and benefits at Dakotafest

By Scout Nelson

The Dakotafest, which takes place this year in the vicinity of Mitchell, South Dakota, from August 20 to 22, is organized by the South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) and promises to offer fascinating agricultural themes, lively conversations with Congressional leaders, and an opportunity to win amazing prizes.

During all three days of Dakotafest, SDFB will offer free coffee and doughnuts starting at 9 a.m. at their Hoop Building (Lot 447) while supplies last. Additionally, popcorn will be served each afternoon beginning at 2 p.m. These refreshments provide a great opportunity for attendees to mingle and enjoy the event.

Visitors to the SDFB booth will have the chance to learn about the organization’s policy priorities and the numerous benefits that come with being a member, such as the South Dakota Farm Bureau Health Plans.

SDFB, in partnership with Farm Bureau Financial Services (FBFS), will be giving away $500 in free groceries each day during Dakotafest. In addition to the grocery giveaways, attendees can register for a chance to win a DeWalt battery-powered string trimmer, with the winner being announced at the end of the show.
