South Dakota State University's Northeast Research Farm is hosting an exciting Field Day on July 13! Explore cutting-edge research and advancements in agriculture while enjoying a delicious meal. No registration or fees required.

Date: July 13, 4 p.m. till dusk.

Location: 15710 455 Ave. South Shore, SD 57263 (2.5 miles west of interstate 29, off exit 193).

  • Enhancing Crop Performance: Learn about oat and wheat varietal performance from Jonathan Kleinjan, an SDSU Extension Agronomist.
  • Advancements in Spring Wheat: Discover the latest spring wheat varieties and breeding lines with Karl Glover, a knowledgeable professor.
  • Optimizing Corn Growth: Gain insights into starter fertilizer usage in corn with Peter Kovacs, an assistant professor specializing in precision agriculture cropping systems.
  • Efficient Fertilizer Practices: Explore the accuracy of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) fertilizer recommendations for corn with Jason Clark, an assistant professor and SDSU Extension Soil Fertility Specialist.

Connie Tande, SDSU Extension Plant Diagnostician, will also be available between tours to discuss plant sample issues and provide assistance with pest identification or field problems.
