This report, a requirement under the Clean Water Act, plays a crucial role in identifying waterbodies in need of help across the state. Secretary Hunter Roberts emphasizes the importance of public feedback in shaping the state's water quality initiatives.
The report not only assesses the condition of South Dakota's surface waters but also outlines the state's water quality monitoring efforts, pinpoints pollutants, and marks waters for pollution management plans. It's a key document for setting pollution limits to ensure water quality standards are met.
Comments are welcome through March 4, 2024, either online or by written mail to Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources Watershed Protection Program 523 East Capitol Avenue – Joe Foss Building Pierre, South Dakota 57501-3181.
