Northern Plains Forage Association's Annual Meeting 2023

By Scout Nelson

The Northern Plains Forage Association (NPFA) invites you to its annual meeting and educational seminars on December 1, 2023. This event will take place at the Brandon Holiday Inn Express in South Dakota. It's an excellent opportunity for networking and gaining insights into forage-related topics. The event is open to everyone, and membership in the NPFA is not a prerequisite for attendance.

The agenda for the day is packed with informative sessions starting at 12:00 p.m. with lunch, followed by presentations from esteemed speakers like Dr. Dan Undersander from the University of WI Madison and Rebecca Kern-Lunbery of Ward Labs.

Topics range from Alfalfa Leaf Loss and its impact on yield and quality to the evaluation of grass in rotations using NIRS. Other subjects include alternative forages in grain rotations and integrating soil health into forage production.

The meeting also includes a segment dedicated to NPFA business discussions, offering a comprehensive overview of the association's activities and plans. The event concludes at 4:30 p.m.

For those interested in attending, the registration fee is $10 for non-members and free for NPFA members.

Members can contact Sara Bauder for a free registration promo code. Lunch is provided with the registration. It's recommended to register by November 20 using the form provided.

This meeting is not just an occasion to learn about the latest in forage production but also a platform for professionals and enthusiasts to connect and share knowledge. Continuing education credits will be available for CCAs, making it a valuable event for career development in the agricultural sector.
