The South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) is inviting applications for its scholarship program, aimed at supporting high school seniors and college students. To be eligible, applicants must have parents or guardians who have been members of the South Dakota Farm Bureau for at least two years. The application deadline for this opportunity is March 1, 2024.
The scholarships are tailored for students with an interest in agriculture or community-focused studies. Whether enrolled in a four-year university program or a two-year technical college degree, students across various educational levels can benefit from this initiative. The SDFB scholarships are not confined to high school seniors alone; college students at any stage of their academic journey are encouraged to apply.
The scholarship fund was established in 2005 by former SDFB president Richard Ekstrum and his wife Agnes. Richard's leadership spanned two decades, from 1975 to 1995, and his legacy continues through this educational support.
Students interested in applying can find the scholarship application on the South Dakota Farm Bureau website. By visiting sdfbf.org and clicking on “Get Involved”, applicants can access all necessary information and submit their applications by the specified deadline.
This scholarship program represents the SDFB's commitment to supporting the education of young individuals in South Dakota, particularly those with a background or interest in agriculture. It offers a valuable opportunity for students to advance their education while acknowledging their connection to the agricultural community.
