South Dakota corn stocks in all positions on September 1, 2022 totaled 70.8 million bushels, up 11% from 2021, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Of the total, 32.0 million bushels are stored on farms, up 21% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 38.8 million bushels, are up 4% from last year.
Soybeans stored in all positions totaled 18.1 million bushels, up 5% from last year. On-farm stocks are 4.70 million bushels, down 2% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 13.4 million bushels, are up 8% from 2021.
All wheat stored in all positions totaled 73.0 million bushels, up 23% from a year ago. On-farm stocks of 35.5 million bushels are up 39% from 2021 and off-farm stocks of 37.5 million bushels are up 11% from last year.
Oats stored in all positions totaled 7.59 million bushels, up 33% from last year. On-farm stocks of 6.00 million bushels are up 50% from 2021. Off-farm stocks of 1.59 million bushels are down 8% from last year.
Barley On-farm stocks totaled 270,000 bushels, up 50% from last year.
Sorghum Off-farm stocks totaled 433,000 bushels, down 8% from last year.
