South Dakota State University (SDSU) Extension is hosting its annual Crop Hour, offering a series of informative webinars for South Dakota crop producers. The Crop Hour series runs every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from January 7 to February 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. CST (9:00 a.m. MT).
These sessions are designed to help producers navigate climate challenges, market changes, crop insurance, and updates on the Farm Bill, ultimately aiming to improve profitability for the coming season.
Crop Hour webinars are led by SDSU Extension agronomy experts and guest speakers who provide valuable insights across a range of critical topics. The series covers essential themes, including soils and water management, weed and insect integrated pest management (IPM), plant diseases and fungicide use, specialty crops, crop management, forage production, and regenerative agriculture.
The sessions also include discussions on climate and business management strategies tailored to support South Dakota producers.
The event is free, but online registration is required to attend. Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) are available for Certified Crop Advisers participating in the webinars, making Crop Hour an excellent opportunity for professional growth and learning.
For additional details, SDSU Extension invites interested participants to reach out to Connie Strunk, SDSU Extension Plant Pathology Field Specialist, or Sara Bauder, SDSU Extension Forage Field Specialist.
Crop Hour promises to be an engaging and informative experience, providing South Dakota’s agriculture community with tools and strategies to face the upcoming season with confidence.
