Mark your calendar! Natural Abundance Food Co-op has something special in store for you. On September 9, 2023, from 2-5 p.m., it's not just another day at the store. It's a full-blown Local Harvest Celebration right at 112 N. Main St., Aberdeen, SD.
In alignment with their 45th Anniversary, the co-op is bringing a festive atmosphere to its parking lot. Attendees, regardless of age, are welcome to partake in the festivities. Inside, customers will find attractive sales, while outdoors, there's music, raffles, and exciting giveaways. Kids can look forward to fun activities, like seed planting sessions.
But the highlight is an impressive display of local specialty crops. From sweet honey and flavorful jams to fresh, in-season fruits and vegetables, there's something for every palate. This event also serves as an educational platform, as the store will profile local producers, shedding light on the diverse range of products available nearby. Some of these premium products will even feature in their silent auction and raffle.
This isn’t just any event. It’s the second out of eight state-wide retail promotions emphasizing the beauty of South Dakota’s specialty crops. All thanks to the backing of the S.D. Specialty Producers Association and the guidance of the S.D. Dept. of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
