The Northeast Research Farm in South Shore has rescheduled its highly anticipated field day to July 18, 2024. Located conveniently at 15710 455th Ave., just 2.5 miles west of Interstate 20 off Exit 193, this event promises an engaging experience for agricultural enthusiasts.
Beginning at 4 p.m. CDT, the field day includes a catered meal and is free for all attendees. Those interested can register by visiting the SDSU Extension Events page and searching for "northeast".
Co-hosted by SDSU Extension, the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station at SDSU, and the Northeast Research Farm Advisory Board, the event showcases cutting-edge research projects focused on small grains and row crop management.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with SDSU Extension specialists, earning certified crop advisor educational credits and receiving valuable reference materials.
Key presentations will explore topics such as new oats and spring wheat varieties, effective strategies for weed and disease management, optimizing corn fertility, ideal soybean planting dates, and precision management techniques tailored for field variability.
