Tour De Yankton Hiring Event Seeing Success

The Tour De Yankton Hiring Event is seeing success in its first five months. In August, nine individuals were hired by employers participating in the event.

The next Tour De Yankton Jobs Hiring Event will be held on Sept. 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is hosted by the Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) Yankton Job Service office in partnership with Yankton Thrive and Riverfront Broadcasting.

September Tour De Yankton participants include Truxedo Human Services Center, Manitou, Perkins Family Restaurant, Parker Hannifin, First National Bank Card Center, Avera Education and Staffing Solutions, Dollar Tree, Mead Lumber, and Sherwin Williams.

The Tour De Yankton Hiring Event is designed to allow job seekers to explore various career opportunities in Yankton. Individuals are invited to stop at participating businesses to learn about the company, apply for a position, and receive a confidential interview.

Perkins Family Restaurant Owner Julie Keane says, "Tour De Yankton is a fabulous opportunity for local businesses to attract and attain talent during these challenging times."

Participating businesses can build brand awareness, find an untapped pool of qualified candidates, benefit from face-to-face interaction with potential employees, and save time and money finding qualified employees.

The next Tour De Yankton hiring event is scheduled for Oct. 18 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Events will be hosted on the third Tuesday of every month at no cost to the business or job seeker. Businesses are invited to sign up for future events by contacting the Yankton Job Service office at 605-668-2900.
