SDSU Extension is set to host the Women on the Range Grazing Workshop from July 8-10, 2024. Scheduled to take place at the scenic Wedge Tent Ranch near Faith, the workshop will provide comprehensive training from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT daily.
Registration is priced at $175 per person, covering workshop materials and meals throughout the event. Interested individuals are encouraged to secure their spots early due to limited availability by visiting the SDSU Extension Events page and searching for "grazing."
The Women on the Range workshop will explore the relationship between plants and grazing livestock, focusing on range ecology. Assistant professor and SDSU Extension Range Specialist Krista Ehlert is excited about the event, aiming to bring women together to learn and implement grazing in their system.
The Women on the Range program, launched in 2021 by SDSU Extension, educates South Dakota women about range management and promotes leadership and empowerment in the agricultural industry, focusing on hands-on, interactive education.
Participants will gain insights into effective grazing principles and strategies, enhancing their capabilities to manage grazing more efficiently on their lands. This hands-on workshop promises an empowering experience, supporting women to become proactive leaders in the field of agriculture.
