Several top South Dakota officials are headed to Mexico this week for a trade mission.
Lt. Gov. Larry Rhoden and Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources Secretary Hunter Roberts are leading the delegation.
Officials said the goal of the trip is identify trade markets and business opportunities, particularly for value-added agriculture companies.
“We are excited for the opportunity to build South Dakota relationships in Mexico,” Roberts said in a DANR press release. “Due to its rapidly growing economy, current trade relations, and diversity, Mexico is a country full of opportunities and is a key trading market for South Dakota businesses.”
South Dakota Trade is organizing the trip. Representatives from several businesses, including Advanced Sunflower., Agropur US, C.A.W Industries and Houdek are taking part.
